DeCoursey studied art exclusively for a year while attaining his degree in manufacturing management. Throughout the years he created works of art in acrylics, oils, pencil and pen and ink. However, his career as an engineer and business owner left little time to pursue his love for art. In the mid 1980’s he created his first wood sculpture and found that the unfolding of the form in wood and the delicate touch needed in finishing it into a pleasing art object gave him more satisfaction than any other media in which he had previously worked. DeCoursey spends his days in his studio creating beautiful pieces from select woods. Many local community service organizations have also benefited from his many talents. Throughout her life Raquel engaged in various arts and crafts. Some of her favorite projects have involved beading, ceramic painting, crocheting, acrylic painting and oil painting on canvas. Raquel has always had the talent and desire to create works of art; however, she is now fortunate enough to be able to do it full time. She is well known in the Rosarito art community for her custom hand painted pillows and accessories. Her work can also be found in Polo’s Gallery in Rosarito.
