6th Annual San Felipe Blues and Arts Fiesta

San Felipe, Baja California will be the backdrop of the highly prestigious Blues and Arts Fiesta. This is the event where music and art become one; and to make it even more appealing the concert will be on the beach by the Sea of Cortez, the most prominent symbol of the Baja Peninsula. San Felipe is a slow paced fishing town, but on Saturday, March 24, 2012, this is undoubtedly going to change.


The fiesta was created in the same spirit as the Woodstock and Monterey Pop Festivals, and the artists who will perform are comparable to the most celebrated blues, rock ‘n’ roll, and rock singers of the history. Apart from excellent music, the event features the best of Mexico’s craftsmen who will display the finest of their works on the 30 booths available for this occasion.


The mission of Blues and Arts Fiesta is “Changing Lives Through Music and Art”. As a result, the event will be a reason of joy not only for participants, but also for the deprived members of the community. All proceeds will be donated to local charities that rely on private donations to carry out their activity. Any person will automatically contribute to the cause by purchasing a ticket which costs $20 if paid in advance and $25 if purchased on location. The location of the shows will be El Cortez Hotel, and the organizers are San Felipe BC Lions Club (www.sanfelipebclionsclub.org) and Baja Good Life Club (www.bajagoodlifeclub.com). About 150 volunteers will put a lot of effort into bringing this incredible event to the public.


San Felipe BC Lions Club operates with the sole purpose of assisting the humanitarian needs of local organizations. Their members are totally dedicated to encouraging cooperation among citizens and unconditional compassion towards the less privileged.


The Baja Good Life Club provides a platform of interaction for those who want to turn Baja into their home. Members have access to products, services, and resources which turn every day into an opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.

Mark your calendars for Friday night, March 25:  Blues & Arts Fiesta Pre-Party. You are personally invited to "party central" at the El Cortez Hotel in downtown San Felipe, starting at 7pm, to get in the groove the night before the show. This giant bienvenidos party will be hosted by hosted by Chet and The Committee with Special Guest Ms. Beckie Sue! Cover charge is only $5 or 60 pesos at the famous Barefoot Bar, located right in the hotel on the beach. People are still talking about last year's surprise filled pre-party gathering and for good reason.  We'll be cranking it way up Friday night!

And then on Sunday, March 27, our Fiesta post-party is hosted by another great friend of San Felipe, Chet Cannon & the Committee.  Mosey on over to Rumors restaurant, just north of San Felipe. Start time at Noon / 12 pm.  Come enjoy the Blues & Arts afterglow in the perfect patio bar / restaurant venue with cold beer, great food, and more from our musician friends. For the 5th year, the Lions Club acts as ringmaster to bring the entire community of safe and friendly San Felipe together to showcase world class musicians and phenomenal local artisans. The ocean cooled venue is located on the exquisite Sea of Cortez right at the base of harbor mountains. In this enchanted venue, the star studded line up of musicians and artists captures the humanitarian spirit, natural beauty, and generous community of the Baja. The 2010 International Blues & Arts Festival is coming up on Saturday, March 27, in San Felipe. Sponsored by Mexico Living, Tecate and the San Felipe Lions Club, the event will be held at the baseball stadium, and, if last year’s concert was any indication, this open-air fiesta will be the hottest ticket in Baja.

The Lions Club of San Felipe is no longer hosting the Flying Samaritan's medical trips, however the Lions Club still support the Flying Samaritans by their use of the Lion's Club slit eye lamp, bedding and distributing of eye glasses donated to the Lions club.

Blue Roadrunner: "The Lions Club and Mexico Living Guide, with financial help from a vast roster of sponsors, did a great job of organizing and promoting the event, which drew seven Blues groups from the San Diego area as well as our own Agave Blues and Vatos Locos bands. The music was superb and the groups who are habitual émigrés to the festival keep improving their sound. Shelle Blue and Michele Lundeen were particularly galvanizing and inspired repeated ovations from the crowd...."

Kat's Korner: The 3rd Annual Blues and Arts Fiesta was a great success and I personally had a blast. I had to leave for an hour to change my clothes and feed my dogs, but other than that, I stayed until it was over with. A big "thank you" to the Lions Club and the Packs of Mexico Living, Denny and Sandi Flannigan and everyone else involved (and there were many volunteers who ran their butts off). Possibly next year, we need a two day festival!

Casey Hamlin: A great time for everyone and a super turnout if you missed this one we will have a bigger event next year please come an support us the San Felipe Lions Club, and have fun at the same time...

Puerto Penasco to San Felipe Baja California for the 3rd Annual Blues & Arts Fiesta. 10 Blues Bands, 60 Artists and ONE incredible experience.

This is an 8 passengers trip to San Felipe to attend the Blues and Arts Fiesta on Saturday March 28th. We will depart Puerto Penasco on Fri the 27th, attend the festival on the 28th and return to Puerto Penasco on the 29th.

This trips will include:

• Round trip water transportation on " Seafari "

• Transfers to and from hotel
• Transfers to the festival

The cost for this trips is $400 per person. We are going to have a blast on this one.
