Artist Spotlight: Melody Ashley


Melody Ashley’s interest in Art has been life long.  Her favorite art is the creating of a beautiful yard. After nine years in the landscape business she became interested in metal “garden art.”  She sold her company and began to design and have made wonderful forms that decorate gardens all over the United States.  When Melody  move to San Felipe in 2000, she began to teach herself how to make her own metal art.  Durning this same time, she also built several homes in San Felipe, including the first tire house in the Ejido. All have been on the AARP tour of homes.  


Over the years, Melody has enjoyed many happy customers with her fun designs. Recently,  Melody donated her time to Desert Mother’s , a local non profit benefiting young hispanic mothers, doing 13 workshops and teaching 29 students how to cut metal with a plasma cutter.
